We’ve invested in the environment on our site.
You can read more about this below.
- Our entire site runs on green energy thanks to the solar panels on the roof. The sanitation building at the camper site also operates with solar panels on the roof. When the sun sets, the power comes from fully charged batteries.
- We do not use gas in our business but had a heat pump installed in 2019. This allows us to draw our heat from the ground.
- In 2025, we laid a pipe from the rainwater reservoir on the property to the sanitation building at the camper site. We use this water to flush the toilets.
- What is also remarkable is that the sanitation system processes the used water through a helophyte filter. This system separates the waste water, allowing clean water to flow into the ditch, while the remaining waste (toilet products/shampoo/soap) is broken down in the reed bed. You can read more about this at the reed bed (near the dog walking path).
- The vegetation on our site and around the camper area has been deliberately chosen and planted by a biologist to contribute as much as possible to biodiversity, benefiting both birds and insects.
- On our property (by the large grassy area), we have a beehive managed by a self-employed (independent) beekeeper. These bees are vital for the pollination of plants, and we are also observing how our environment influences them now and in the past. There is a lot to be done regarding crop protection for farmers and bees. We now know that when used correctly, crop protection does not adversely affect bee health.
- The fact that bees enjoy being here is evident from the annual emergence of young bees in the earthwork by the sanitation unit. They buzz around diligently, are completely harmless, and are an asset to biodiversity.
- When cleaning our sprayer, the crop protection agent is separated from the water at the washing area by a phytobac. The pit collects the water, which is separated from the agent through a system. The completely clean water flows into the ditch, and the agent is spread over the soil beds that you see at the sprayer area. In these beds, the agent is naturally broken down by the soil and plants.
- For the construction of the hard standings at the camper site, we intentionally used recycled materials instead of new ones. This is just as attractive and practical but much more sustainable.
- We have several signs on our site to explain various aspects, so feel free to read them during your walk around our property.
We are not connected to mains sewerage. For this reason toilet waste is biodegraded. If possible we prefer biodegradable means. We sell a proper functioning, environmental-friendly means at an attractive price. Inquire with our hostess!(/reception).
